Our Network aims to support the delivery of the Rural Development Programme for England (RDPE). This brings into effect in England the rural development priorities or “axes” of the European Union Rural Development Regulation.
The RDPE Network has been set up to support the delivery of RDPE policy, programme management and implimentation across the 4 axes of the European Union Rural Development Regulation.
The Network will facilitate the exchange of information, experience and practice, so that those with an interest in the RDPE can learn from one another.
This Network is your network but how useful it is depends entirely on how actively you engage with it. The Network Principles encourage people to get involved and make a difference.
Rural development programmes are in place in Northern Ireland, Scotland, Wales and other EU member states, with networks set up to support these programmes. The UK National Rural Network (UK NRN) has been created to link the four UK country networks, enabling them to share good practice, experience and lessons learnt. For the same reason, the European Network for Rural Development (EN RD) links the networks of all member states of the European Union.
Defra, the managing authority for RDPE, has asked the Commission for Rural Communities (CRC) to act as the Network Unit. This unit is responsible for facilitating and co-ordinating the structures necessary for the development and operation of both the RDPE Network and the UK NRN and for implementing their Action Plans.
The projects directory holds records of all types of projects related to all regions. Submit your project to the directory and find other similar projects in your area.
