RDPE funding is being used to support rural broadband projects in the East and West Midlands.
A £400,000 fund aims to deliver faster broadband to rural communities in the East Midlands. The money will be invested in rural broadband initiatives through the RDPE, which is managed in the region by the East Midlands Development Agency (emda). The funding will be used to support rural communities by upgrading existing broadband infrastructure and enable the early use of next generation solutions.

A project to speed up rural broadband connections has also been launched in the West Midlands. The initiative has received £200,000 of RDPE funding, aiming to benefit 40,000 rural residents and more than 2500 rural businesses.
